WHAT IS MESSY CHURCH?
Having held regular family Fun Days for the past three years, which have always been enjoyed and well attended, we launched the first MESSY CHURCH on the 3rd May. MESSY CHURCH runs with a similar format to the Fun Days and comprises of crafts, games, quizzes, Bible stories and songs and are always rounded off by eating together. The great thing about MESSY CHURCH is that families can enjoy it together. The theme of the first MESSY CHURCH was 'journeys' and the children made lunch boxes, sandwiches to put in the lunchboxes and they also made Lei’s (Hawaiian Welcome Garlands). They then put together a collage on transport and holidays. The story picked up the thought that to start a journey with God, you just needed the desire to do so and faith as small as a mustard seed (and all the children were given a mustard seed each).
Messy Church will commence again in February (7th) and will run on the 1st Sunday of each month at 4.00pm till 6.00pm at the Parish Rooms (except in December when we will have another special Fun Day).
Come along and join in the Fun, all are welcome!
